From the early 2000s until today, I have experienced, observed and helped to shape the digital transformation of the music industry in my area of responsibility. As one of the early disruptively changing industries, many things went badly wrong in the music industry, leading to the biggest crisis since the invention of radio. In the meantime, the industry is taking advantage of the opportunities of digital transformation and will soon be at the revenue level of the late 1990s.

For more than 10 years I have intensively studied the topic of artist development in the music industry and wrote my doctoral thesis on it at the University of Bolton in England. Based on the doctoral thesis, my book "Organic Artist Development" was published by the renowned NOMOS Verlag in cooperation with the Popakademie Baden-Württemberg.

Since 2012, I have been teaching the topic of artist development at various universities and have lectured on the subject at numerous music industry conferences.
